Welcome to Eloise Govier.com
Eloise Govier is a young, up and coming artist based in Wales, UK.
Eloise
has exhibited in Wales, England and Scotland and has also exhibited internationally. Her work is now in private collections
in Europe, America and the Far East. Eloise is an Expressionist artist and uses knives and oil paint to create her paintings,
she looks to express a feeling or an emotion about the people and places she paints. Her paintings are instantly recognisable,
with the luscious thick oil creating both a tactile and dynamic surface to the canvas, and colour combinations that are both
inspiring and enchanting to admire. Eloise creates collections of work, her first exhibition was titled 'Arcadia', followed
by 'Wales in Colour', 'The Bridge that Floods', and recently the 'Über Art' collection. Initially her work focused on
the landscape that she grew up in, however she has also painted very popular Cityscapes of London and Cardiff. In 2010 she
turned her gaze to figure and created over twenty paintings that celebrated the male form, these works were part of the 'Über Art'
collection and have toured the UK; the solo show was exhibited in both the Pendre Art Gallery Cardigan and The Byre Theatre
St Andrews, and a selection of pieces shown in Cardiff and Hereford. She is currently working on a photographic collection
that shall be released later this year and also some new pieces of local West Wales scenes including the image shown on this
page: 'Sea, Coast, Mwnt' and 'Llandgrannog' which is shown on the contact page, both are currently drying in her studio. More
examples of her work can be found on the 'paintings' page of this website and further information about the artist can be
found on the 'biography' page.
